Status : Online | First of all I really liked the Black Mirror, the game had a great story, scary atmosphere and beautiful sounds and visuals. Some ppl had trouble with the attitude of the main character, some difficult puzzles (the slider ) and the ending, but I thought it was a great and original game.
So I was looking forward to playing Nibiru: Messenger of the Gods. A story involving archeology and Nazi's, sounds a bit like Indy to me! I even bought the German version, although my native language is Dutch and I prefer English above German. But I couldn't wait for the English version [smiley=hyper.gif]
Well, I was somewhat dissapointed with Nibiru, although it has many good points, it is no Black Mirror.
The Good: - the graphics are beautiful again, the game uses a slightly updated version of the BM engine - the movies have improved somewhat - sounds are also great again - voice acting is very professional (german version) - the story is quite entertaining, reminded me sometimes of Broken Sword 2 - the main character is a much nicer guy then Samuel - puzzles are much easier then in Black Mirror (Note: I think this is bad. There is one very easy slider and two other somewhat tougher puzzles, but most puzzles are inventory based or just finding a key )
The Bad: - It is very short (or at least a lot shorter then BM or BS) - It is very linear (I guess the advantage is that you don't have to travel so much around your map :-/) - It is very easy. - I didn't like the ending
Well I can conclude that Nibiru is like most new adventures: great looking, ok story, short and easy. The game is interesting, but don't expect a Black Mirror or an Indiana Jones game.

| Deleted User | I still plan to give it a try when it is available in English. I hope that will happen in the not too distant future.
I enjoyed Black Mirror but agree with you that Samuel was not one of the more exciting characters that I have met in games. I will politely say that he was a bit flat and his voice-overs were horrible (in English). And the Black Mirror ending left me feeling lost and incomplete. But I still give the game a solid B or a B+ when compared to many other games that I have played.
BTW, I'm glad that you posted your Nibiru opinions. It always helps to hear what other players are thinking.

For Martin Holan, the main character in Nibiru, we hired the German voice actor of Matt Damon. He gave Martin a rather naive and honest touch, yet sympathetic and determined to solve the mystery.

I played the english version of the Black Mirror, so I never heard the German Samuel I am afraid.
All German voices in Nibiru were very good, my compliments. They also were very understandable for a non German .
Release date for the English version is somewhere this year, but I don't know when ???

If the puzzles turn out to be easier than BM it won't bother me too much in a game like this. But shorter does bother me a bit. Seems to be a trend. :-/
