Well, I'd better introduce myself. My name is Atle Ragnar Jarnæs Lerøy and we're currently making Roger Foodbelly.
Over to the answers...
To dabomb765; Roger Foodbelly won't get cancelled. I've devoted my whole soul into this project.
Yay JonasKyratzes!
to Cerberus, maybe it's because our background leader has been teached by Bill Tiller and has practiced the style on his own a few months now. I guess it would be a nice wallpaper.
Last word goes to stooge4444, we'll finish this game - even if it'll take four years!
I'm again glad for the response on this thread, and I hope you will welcome this game aboard when it's finished.

I'm not sure about Denmark yet...
When? That's a bit hard to say since we haven't really set a date. Since this game is still in its early stages, I guess it'll take around two years to finish -- It might take longer.
But if you want, you can sign yourself on the news letter for Roger Foodbelly when we've fixed a bit. And on that you'll get further information, including deals in the USA, and release dates.
Check www.adventurepit.cjb.net for more info about it, or www.rogerfoodbelly.cjb.net (temp) when the site is up. I can mention it here too.
Thanks again for paying your interest in our product.

Status : Online | Hey again. Here I am, four years later with good news. The game hasn't been cancelled.
I'm sorry for bumping this thread, but I think this thread is more suited posting in rather than creating another thread regarding the same game.
I just wanted to let you know that we scratched everything we had last December, as we're going for the episodic format instead. Now it's better than ever, and the first episode is believed to be completed next fall, with a price tag less than $10.
Close to christmas we're trying to release some sort of christmas gift to you through the game's blog which can be found here: http://rogerfoodbelly.blogspot.com/ Some music is also expected to show up there in the coming weeks. Hopefully I can pull off something as I post the christmas special.
(I even think you can subscribe to the blog through a news feed..)
The server is waited to come up again with the homepage soon. But I can't tell you what soon means, as it's out of my control. Hopefully you'll get a little glance at what's been done the past few years.
But now it's coming, and it's out of my control

Please don't tell me that you, too, are going for the episodic format ???
I know that chapter 1 might only cost $10- or so but with 6 or 7 or 8 chapters pr. game, adventure games (or a full adventure game at least) will then cost about twice as much as they do now. (at least in Denmark, where I live...).
If the adventure game, then only pr. episode has say 2-3 hours of gameplay, totalling say 20-30 hours gameplay, then I, for one, am not interested in games in the episodic format. Also, then Episode 1 functions as a sort of demo for the game.....

Originally Posted By Karsten (17 DEC 2006 9:34am) HI Please don't tell me that you, too, are going for the episodic format ?? (...) I don't think you need to worry, Karsten. The first episode will have 5 chapters, so each episode stands somewhat out as a shorter full game. The episodes are devided into chapters to introduce the player to what comes next and give a feeling of progress. The first season might just get 4 episodes. Also each episode will cost less than one episode of Sam & Max, even though the process of making it will take a bit longer.
There are several reasons why we've decided to go with the episodic approach, but I will assure you that it works really good. It's either this or nothing at all, as it would take a lot longer making a full game (and the chance of it getting cancelled) than the time it would making one season. Episodic would also help us improve each future episode, as we're getting feedback from the gamers.
The price might also vary for each episode, if that episode will be shorter than the previous. But the price won't increase if that episode are longer. Also, I think this is a more suitable price than The Exchange Student, which also is an independent game - but with a price as high as $20 for each episode. A bit too pricy in my opinion (The same way Telltale Games did with the first Bone game, before it was decreased to $12).
We're also careful about the overall price of each season, so I don't think you need to worry.
