also several action/rpgs: diablo, sacred, darkstone, dungeon siege
and lots and lots of good old amiga and mame arcades and shoot em ups!
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

I couldn't possibly name one single title from all non-adventure genres because there have been far too many great ones in every category from FPS, Third Person Action, RPG, Action-RPG and RPG Hybrid to RTS, TBS and Sims of every kind. There have also been several great arcade classics and pure puzzle games plus we need to consider all forms of SP, MP and MMOGs from a number of eras on a host of different systems.
Heck, I can't even name my favorite classic-style, puzzle oriented, first person PC adventure let alone my overall favorite AG / Action-Adventure.
Cheers, Terry

Not keen on action-adventure, racing, sports, platformers, flight sims, real-time strategy, Doom-style shooters or puzzle games. I rarely like 'hybrid' games either, the one exception being Deus Ex.

Yeah, kick off 2 was brilliant. I never really got into Sensible soccer, I much preferred the ball control of kick off 2.

| Deleted User | Rather suprised by your great FPS choices, Ksandra, don't know why but I never really figured you for playing that sort of game. The Hidden and Dangerous titles are fantastic - the sequel being one of the best WW2 themed tactical espionage shooters ever, if not THE best.
On a similar note, I picked up Silent Hunter 3 for cheap. Although there's a couple of bugs need ironing and the resolution is annoyingly set quite low, it's really quite an amazingly detailed and lovingly created title. Stressful too - recreate Das Boot! And live in fear. Gulp!

I don't like shooters that simply throw loads of enemies at you and force you to plough your way through them. I enjoy team-based tactical shooters because there's a lot more strategy to them - you can creep up behind enemies to kill them silently, snipe them from a distance, or set up an ambush for them to run into. If you're careful you don't have to do much actual shooting at all.
And yes, I agree about the Hidden and Dangerous games. Too bad they were so buggy, though...

Given your particular taste in shooters Ksandra, I would strongly advise you to steer waaaaaaaaaay clear of Serious Sam.

Nothing else has ever hooked me as bad as those ones. There are lots of other games I like, those just stand far above the rest.
Now since the original question just asked about non-adventure games, maybe I should list some board games. I spend more time with those these days than any computer/video games.

Because I meant what are you favourites in non-adventure computer/console games.
To Mike_A: I didn't mean board games so please don't list them. Maybe you could start a new topic on board games?
To SquarejawHero: What are you're favourites in non-adventure games?
Btw, does anyone have/know where to get some cool pics of the Lizard King from the Dragon's Lair series?

It's interesting to hear about games that others like, especially if you've never heard about them before.

I won't. I was just kidding about listing them.
I wasn't kidding about playing them the most, though.
