Dark fall 2 looks more relevant.
Anyway, I just saw the one for Moment of Silence. eek. At least it stand out a bit, the europe one is bland.
Oh, and was I immagining one of the Still Life covers as a close-up of Vicktoria aiming a gun at the viewer? Now THAT looks like an adventure :.

It evokes memories of playing SpectrumZX and Commodore games in the 80's, where the box art was the prettiest thing about the 16 color games. Many of these games were successful at creating atmosphere from no budget, or professional sheen. So, perhaps the Akella Dark Fall cover is a fitting tribute. Oh, except for the red dripping slug. That element should only been known to myself, and my psychiatrist.

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

I might have to find out who produced the illustration, and send them a big net-hug.

Come on 'fess up. You created that illustration yourself in a drunken stupor in the dead of night and sent it to those unsuspecting Russian publishers screaming Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!

That picture for the first game is hilarious! [smiley=laughing.gif]
The one for Lights Out is actually kind of nice. It's a little more ... relevant to what the game is actually about. But what is that center screenshot on the back of the jewelcase? I can't figure out where it's from. I recognize the two on the left, though.

Status : Online | Well, guys, all the things you said here are really funny. As I joined the Akella company just a few months ago I missed the time this art was created. And being a gaming journalist I suspected it to be a little further from the game plot than it tried to seem.
Just for your curiosity, this artwork was made by a freelancer artist and not by the artist of our company. And it might represent the game content a bit incorrectly but it brings much fun however- as you yourselfes have already proven. If you have any comments, please feel free to contact me by e-mail: erkin-at-akella.com
And thanks again, guys, it is a real pleasure to start the working day this way. And special thanks to Jonathan, I hope we'll publish more XXv games in the future.
UPD: Sorry, I mistyped my e-mail, just fixed it. It's erkin-at-akella.com

Someone help me out here. If you wear a button - down shirt and TUCK it in, is that out of style?  on't get me wrong, I LOVED the 80s, and remember them fondly, but I had no idea that tucking your shirt in somehow was particular to that time period. Good grief, I really AM behind the times! LOL!

Substitute good deck shoes for the sneakers and you have the everyday look I have had since long before the eighties - and still do today.
Cheers, Terry

Did ya also notice: our hero also is carrying a (gasp!) shoulder bag?!? A purse?
How European! How stylish!
To get around American male egos (whom wouldn't be caught dead carrying a purse), we shall refer to it as the "knife bag".
[font=book antiqua]Could it be a Prada?
I also wonder how many of you noticed the S***Force logo on the back. My Dreamcatcher version didn't have that "accessory". Not to mention that the Russian version specs are about a Pentium higher than the American release:
[font=book antiqua]U.S. Version: Pentium 233 minimum or equivalent 32Mb Ram (64 recommended) 24 x CD ROM (or PC DVD) SVGA capable graphics adapter 32 bit color at 640x480
Russian Version:
Pentium III 400 64Mb Ram 24 x CD ROM (or PC DVD) SVGA capable graphics adapter 32 bit color at 640x480
I suppose the extra "oomph" is required for the StarForce...
Please proofread your posts carefully to see if you any words out.

I am amazed that some of the guys in this thread are so fashion conscious. If it's cold, I tuck in my shirt. If it's hot, I pull it out. If I just ate, I might pull it out then too if it's uncomfortable. It's really very simple. Why agonize over it?
And people tucked in their shirts long before the 1980's so I don't know why anyone thinks it's an 80's thing.
