I'm not looking for how many think one site is better than the other - I enjoy both. But, I've seen so many GB members begin to post here (and stop there).

Personally, I've not had any problem.  I'm just wondering why there's such an influx.

What?

Um okay. could be... but then again.

Actually, its kind of a serious OT question... (not that I don't appreciate and tend to agree with your response... )

There have been several (dare I say former) members posting here as of late.  Somethings up?

What?

Yes, I know you were serious... it's very difficult for me being serious

So far we know two people accounts were deleted at GB. I havn't been there much so I don't recognize which members were "exchanged". We can only guess...

I'd post the question over there - but, I'm afraid I'd get banned...

I joined GB about the time I joined here.

I have gone there but am not comfortable.  I have helped when someone is stuck but that is about it.

So what, I have done maybe two Hint posts.  Their Hint forum seems to be stronger there and I don't have answer as to why.  Would like this Hint forum get bigger, it was doing well for a while.

I have seen two posters here say they were tossed  off Gameboomers.  I mentioned I was tossed off a board three times and that was Gameboomers but it has been quite a long time since I was there.  I actually think it is a very good board that is just right for a lot of adventure game players.  I have never done well there since, at times, I get too opinionated.  But that has less to do with Gameboomers than with me.  I think this board has a very different culture than GB and it might not appeal to a lot of GB members.

GB has several thousand members (compared to less than 700 here) so if their Hint forum wasn't stronger, that'd be a sign of real trouble

I forgot my sig.

I registered in a few Forums, including GB, posted once I there think, still check from time to time for feedback about games, but GB isn't really Adventure Games oriented like JA is.

I don't get that impression - it is... different.  It the what is different I can't put my finger on. Too many members have been tossed and banned.

I just don't get it -

You know Inland, Ive been wondering the same thing, I have been a regular at GB for a few years now, the people there are great, and I beleive it is VERY adventure game oriented, but a few members that I have always enjoyed conversation with have been booted off in the past month, I wanted to post something about it there too, but didnt want to get the boot, whenever I have ANY kind of problem the mods there usually get me help within a few hours, sometimes minutes, and I DONT want to lose that.
Im wondering..... are they just getting TO strict, I know of one member who told me he just stated an opinion
and when they didnt like it he apologized, but still gave
him the boot, now I dont know what was said, cuz I never got to read it, so I cant judge. Another member told me ( and he was a VERY regular) he was booted for posting links, and this person was a really nice person,.
never caused any problems, so I dont know what to think.
As for coming to this forum, I like the people here too,
and I also visit AG, I like to get other opinions on console games, and JA and AG have more of both than GB.
But I am still a frequent visitor at GB, and do  think its
a great place, but am a little worried about whats been going on.

I'm a regular at GB and I really enjoy the forums.  I really love it over here too.  I post on quite a number of different forums.  Each one unique and valued by me for various reasons.  I enjoy the diversity.  Try it.  You might like it too.

I have been a regular visitor to GB for two years, not many posts but I enjoyed what information I could get and everyone has always been very helpful. Since this forum opened, I have been a reg. visitor here and much less at GB. Never thought about why until this thread. For me, I think it is that the discussions are simply more interesting over here since a wide range of input is tolerated. Perhaps when moderators use too short a leash they choke off any potential for meaningful debates and the posts sort of dissolve into chats about games. It's very hard to have discussions of substance when one is afraid to speak his/her mind. Nevertheless, GB has a very loyal following who is very comfortable with this style, and GB does very well protecting their interests. I think each forum has it's own merits, and you go with whatever fits you best.

I joined here simply as an additional source of game information.  Things that aren't on Boomers might be on here and vice versa.  Also if I'm stuck in a game if someone doesn't have a hint on one site they might on the other so I post on both.  That about sums up why I came here.  Have no conmplaints about Boomers and have made many wonderful gaming friends there as I hope to here also.

It's a great board without a doubt. It just looked a bit odd that so many members got the boot - or chose to leave on their own.

What?

Well Inland.......I see you DID make a topic, and everyone is staying on it too. Good for you!
Since all this talk about GameBoomers, maybe I'll have to check it out. But....I doubt I'll ever stay at another forum as I do here.
Can't 'betray the family'......heh....know what I mean?

Deleted UserI also used to post at that 'other place' unitl they started to banning people who were posting blatant links to JA.  Plus everytime someone would post a link to JA none of their moderators would respond in an attempt to quickly push the post off the front page.  If they think no one notices this stuff they are wrong.  I would much rather weather some controversy and flaming here instead of people being sneaky behind the scenes.
