Hi,
Anybody experiencing this problem when try to run the game on laptop? The voice of the characters are overlapped. It is very annoying. Have downloaded the newest driver for sound card. Have applied the Service Pack for Windows XP. Have tried to disable the sound accelerator. Nothing works.

Any help will be appreciated.

My laptop spec is Dell Inspiron 8200 (1.7 GHz)  ???with 64 MB Radeon 9000 and Crystal Sound chip.

I have heard of this problem before. Try adjusting the sound acceleration.

To do this, click start, then run, then type in “dxdiag”. This should bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Under the Sound tab , there should be 4 different options:

  • No acceleration
  • Basic acceleration
  • Standard acceleration
  • Full acceleration

Try each acceleration, starting with none and progressing to full, and try playing the game after each change.

Also, you should turn off all programs running in the background such as antivirus software. Syberia is so finicky.

Good luck.
