I finished Syberia 2.

Overall, I am very pleased with it and the first one.

Part of my problems is myself, not being as observant as I need to be sometimes,
and part is not putting 2+2 together sometimes - duh - although I must say in happy surprise at myself, I can occasionally show a spark of brilliance at adventure games.

Another part is, it happens now and then that some of the things you are supposed to figure out would Never In God's Green Earth occur to anyone rational.

Another is, sometimes I need a bit more "booster cues" than the game gives.

But mostly the games are just smarter than me!!!

As for these Syberia stories,  I was enchanted.

Storyline:
I really can't see how, after it's all over, that it could have happened much of any other way.
Not much else would have been literary justice.
Nor romantical justice.
So now, I want the next part!!
How does Kate get home??
Does she get home??
Qué Pasa, Dude?

Aesthetics:
Absolutely gorgeous.
I read on some forum how it was "flat."  That's bogus.
I enjoyed every minute of it.

And the music!!!!!!!
To die for.
How does one "capture" those melodies off the CD????

As for various complaints I've seen of some graphical issues, such did not impact me at all.  I found the whole thing magical and charming.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

So pleased you enjoyed these games.  It's certainly a great feeling when we enjoy spending our money like this.  I have read that you can do a search for mp3 files and your machine will pick them up for you.  I haven't done it myself because the music struck me as belonging in the game.  I think I'd be spooked listening to Syberia 1 music all the time.

Hmmmm, are they mp3 files?  I never thought of that!  I'll have to look.  Guess I just natcherly assumed they would be coded in some kind of proprietary format to prevent capture, but I never actually checked on that.
Thanks for the tip!

I think that every post on any site about Syberia 2 that I've seen has the player asking the same question, "How does Kate get home". Maybe one day someone will come up with a solution to that puzzle.

I agree both Syberia's are fantastic! I have just finished them after getting the 'special edition...both games on 1 DVD.

Benoit Sokal is a fantastic artist and I can't wait for his new game 'Lost Paradise' to come out.

I have also just downloaded the huge (250mb) demo of 'Still Life' and it seems very 'Siberia-ish'

Was hoping for good things from his previous game 'Amerzone' aswell but I sem to be having probs with it.....see my posting in the Technical Help forum

I read about it on this very website. There is an interview with him.
