Hey all. I got Legacy for Christmas because I was anticipating it. First, let me say that this game is a low-budget Adventure game.  o not except that this game will have Grade A quality because it won't. If you understand that, you should have fun as I did.
I am not going to spend time describing all specific features because you can find that elsewhere. The game is right up my alley: 3rd-person PnC, prerendered-backgrounds-and-scenery, inventory-and-FirstPerson-based-puzzles Adventure.
I really liked the drawings and backgrounds. Like others have said they are dark but it really works.  There one quite good post-apocalypticish scene) Most of the scenes have many little details like pipes, boxes, and debris....so that looking for your "booty" is fun. A lot of the static non-interactive props in a scene have descriptions. And from these descriptions come a lot of the humo(u)r in the game like references to movies and quirky comments. For example, at one point Ren says, "Is it me or are these barrels following me?"
As you've probably read somewhere else, the voice acting is bad. It's not un-listenable but sometimes it is strange. For the most part, Ren's voice is veyr well done. However, sometimes in dialog(u)e with NPCs it starts to sound like a robot! It's weird. Some of the characters are excellent voice acting like the old miner, Drunk John, and others. While playing, there is no lip synching, which was kind of a surprise. However, I think it was a good descision because if the lip synching engine was not good it would distract from the gameplay. But the cinematics do have synching.
I want to say that the cinematics were very good. I really enjoyed them because they were well-done and vivid.
The story is pretty good. It would have been better to extrapolate on some key points like the link between Ted and everyone but o well.
I also really liked the music. Cool little electronic beats. Also, other reviews say that the song when you exit the game is stupid; well, I think it's funny as hell. And it's catchy.....
I want to make an announcement about the interface. Remember that you can middle-click or push L (i think it's L) to view a document up close; important for maps and stuff.
Now for the bad stuff....
The game crashed to the desktop like every 15-20 minutes of play. I am surely positive it is a memory leak. I found that if I loaded a game it would take longer for it to crash, which implies that the leak starts when someone loads a game. Hopefully they will fix this. It's quite annoying but not desvastating.
The game took me aprroximately 6-7 hours; it's a very easy game.
Despite it's flaws, I liked Legacy and I thought it was fun and intriguing. I will give it a B.
I got it for 30$ and that's a little high for the quality but I think it's important for Razbor, the developers, to get some good sales before it starts to go to lower prices. For me, it was worth it. For most people, I would guess 15-20$ range would suffice. I think they have a lot of potential since this is their first game (at least from what I know.) I know they have an interactive coloring book coming out...but that doesn't count.
