How are "Holland" and "Flanders" related to "The Netherlands"?

Holland is another name for The Netherlands, the latter being the official one. Flanders is the upper part of Belgium, the part that neighbours The Netherlands. The connection? We all speak English's little Germanic sister Dutch, hence the name Dutchies.

He, Rudy, liked to walk around on his hind legs. That was a strange sight. He looked like a black bear walking around. He loved to greet people at the front door on his hind legs. He could also jump and clear my head from a standing position. I'm about 5'8'' . Gosh, I miss him.
Myst IV - Never finished it. Got frustrated with it.&&Myst V - Did not finish it either. Very disappointing.&&ATTWN - BORING!!! Never finished it. Kept falling asleep.&&Paradise - So far .... not so good&&Voyage - Not on my favorite list

Thanks for the Flanders info. Now at least I know where the poppies grow...

I'm so glad I've found this place.. I've been visiting JA for quite a long time, but I never noticed they had forums.. >_<;; Well, here I am now! Nice to see more people who like adventure games.. people here tend to like games like Counter Strike and such >_<
I'm a fan of adventure games [obviously] and am currently awaiting Still Life.. I wish they quit delaying the release date :'( *crosses fingers and patiently waits for April 14th to come*

So here goes -
I've been an avid adventure gamer for many years, despite my relatively young age which is 15 (almost 16). I'm especially fond of the old school 'quests' (as they're, ironically, called here) such as the Quests Series, MI, BASS, Day of the Tentacle, GK, etc...
I've been actually lurking this community for quite some time, and decided to hop in into the boiling cauldron after all.
Hopes to have fun!

Status : Offline | Hi all, been hear for a bit now but figured I may as well introduce myself. Started playing adventure games again after a hiatus and found the site after seeing one of its reviews quoted on a game box.
I've been playing adventures from the beginning. (Really. I remember when "Adventure" was first loaded onto our campus mainframe and practically shut down the computer department for two weeks. (And I still have my maps of the "little maze of twisty passages".)) Yeah, dirt was only two grades ahead of me in school.
Programmer by trade, photographer by hobby and enjoy hiking or diving when I actually manage to get outside somewhere. Married, no kids but four dogs.
So, hi all. (Waves)

The Long Adventures: Ages of Posting
It might be short on action, but we could throw in a few puzzles stopping adventure players from registering immediately.
Anyway... hello, all! I have been a devotée of adventure games ever since I first saw the little guy in Space Quest 1 walk across the monitor.

I'm of European background, having grown up speaking a number of languages, and I'm passionately in love with classical vocal music. Adventure games have been among my obsessions for some years. I play a wicked game of Monopoly, a pretty good game of chess, and a determined game of Scrabble. I swordfight (mediæval), own two swords (one of which is a longsword), and read. I'm an opera singer, a writer, and composer, as well as doing some web design.
I'm still trying to find the perfect operatic role for a soprano with a sword. <grin>

Status : Offline | Hi to all! I'm a 24 boy, from Portugal. I've been playing adventure games for 9 years and even if I consider an average PC gamer that plays different kinds of games from action games (some FPSs, mostly in groups of friends; GTAs and such), RPGs (Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights), strategy but what I prefer most is definitely adventure games.
My favourite of all times are the GK series, but I also care a lot for the Larry series, Lucasarts series, Discworld series and much more....
The last adventure game I bought was Cluedo : fatal Ilusion, and it's sitting on the shelf keeping company to JP3, Atlantis 2,X-Files, all wainting!
I'm currently playing when I can scanvenge some free time : Neverwinter Nights, Jagged Alliance 2 and Dungeon Keeper.
My next games I intend to play are (besides those that I've recently bought): TLJ, Syberia, and to replay again GK and some of the Lucasarts games.
