Greetings, everyone else, this is Stefano. I cannot truly say I am sorry to disappoint the few of you who thought I was wasting time in Greece, since I am still In Brisbane, Australia, enjoying every single day of this glistening spring.
I am indeed really excited, as I suppose most of you are or would be if their game was just about to be released, even more so after I've heard the american dubbers did a superb job. Well, I'll be trying to read the discussions on this forum compatibly with the upcoming exams and I'll be delighted to reply any question people (even the majority of the superior monkeys) may want to ask.
Until then... S.G.

Status : Online | Tony Tough looks very good. The first time I saw TOny was in a video caputre of the game. I really liked it because it had an old school DOTT feeling. Then I realized that it was in Italian. I immediately thought of Runaway. Aw man...but after a bit the news started rolling in about GOTGAMES picking it up. Yea...now I'm eagerly waiting for Halloween. And I usually think Halloween is boring (expect when I was in Junior High getting candy and bowling with pumpkins. It was really funny, this one halloween my friends and I bowled with an albino pumpkin down a hill and it almost hit someone in the shadows that we didn't see. Then we ran. I was running faster than my friends and they were on the track team!) Tony Tough will be great.
Stefano, when did you start development of Tony Tough? What programming language did you use to program it?
*I just realized that you were a writer so that you might not know some of the things. How did you think of the ideas for the game?  id you write about the story and the puzzles*

The development started, if I am not mistaken, in 1999. It was born in a cellar (from where we actually derived the first location of the game) and, at the beginning we were only two guys in their twenties trying to make something constructive out of endless summer evenings. The story of its path to completion is long and toubled, but I think it's not inaccurae to say that the final version you'll hopefully be playing was developed over a year and a half by fifteen guys.
It was coded in C++ by two main coders and an additional one. I wrote pretty much anything you'll hear or do in the game and helped in the arrangement of some locations.
Again, I am really proud of the outcome and I believe it's going to be very entertaining. It was for me when I played...hee hee...deliberatley very old school.
Thanks again for the interest you've shown. S.G.

Stefano, have you ever worked on other games? Where you the only writer for TT? What are the other things you have done in your career?

As I already wrote, the story behing the release of Tony was long and troublesome and I cannot do but regard a lucky strike that we could develop it thoroughly independently and having it sold all over the world.
Going back to your questions: Yes, was the only writer. About my career, I think the most interesting point is I am one year far from my doctorate in Architecture.
I actually am doing what passionates me, living in a state of bliss and freedom as far as I am a student. For sure I would love working on games again rather than on structures...but what's the difference, really?
Nice work on your shoes... I am sure you're already palnning mass destruction.

"doing what passionates me," Can passion be used as a verb like that? I didn't know that I will use it tomorrow at least 3 times.
Actually, after gluing my shoe I was only planning to go to class and take a midterm. But I think I might be able to create massive destruction along the way; they're big enough. I wanted to glue it because the shoes are my good hacky sack shoes and I didn't want to get other ones.
Do you play games?

Not to worry, I am sure that Tony Tough will be a huge hit and you will soon be rich and famous and drinking non-alcoholic, but bubbly, beverages from the slightly odorous, newly glued, shoes of rich, Australian women.
(I think maybe we've been friends too long, I'm starting to talk like you!)
I played an Italian version of Tony (with English subtitles) a long time ago and Stefano's the funniest and most off-the-wall writer in adventure games since Al Lowe. Anyone who likes the old school Lucas Arts games will love Tony Tough.  on't tell Stefano I said this though.

It's only 30$. You can basically find that in the gutters. Well not really but it's a lot better than 40 or 50.
PLus I have a $10 EB rebate so that mine will be $20. The good thing about that though is that it's not hurting the publishers nor developers.
Yeah...Tony Tough, "SHerlock Gnome"...

Unfortunately, my gutters are not as laden with treasure as yours; TT will have to wait. It's OK tho', adventures have taught me to be patient -- something that doesn't come easily to this Leo.

Status : Online | Ciao Stefano,
I hope you have a lot of fun in the country I come from (Greece). I am currently living in Sweden. I have made some efforts together with a girl from Norway to start an adventure gamers club here in Scandinavia.
I wanted to send the first e-mail to our members next week and I was wandering if you could help me spice it up a little . What I am talking about is whether this game is going to be released in any countries of the Nordic Region (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland) and if so, could we have some release dates or the name of the provider?
I sent an e-mail to gotgame entertainment about it and they reffered me to prograph and they have already forwarded my e-mail to them, but maybe you could give us some news also.
I saw a trailer of your game just recently and it looks great, very oldschooly lucasartsy pointnclicky which can only be good! Our club's main activities will include promotion of adventure games and if you can think of any way that we could help promote your game here in Scandinavia (free of charge) don't hesitate to suggest it.
You can either reply to me here or send me an email at dimidimidimi@hotmail.com, either suits me fine.
Good luck with your game!

Status : Online | First of all I want to thank you all again for the interest you've shown in Tony Tough. I don't really care if you can buy it or not (the amount money I am going to get from it can be safely regarded as "hilarious" anyway)...what I care for is that you play and enjoy it, little people in my screen, which is also the reason it was written for.
dimidimidimi, I am pretty sure greece is the most delighful country as I am pretty sure I am not there right now. As I already drooled somewhere in this post I am in Australia, but this is not quite the point.
You should know that "Tony Tough and the Night of Roasted Moths" (the title was an adventure itself) was developed independently and the company you cited just bought it and financed it from roughly half the develompent to its completion. The same company currenly owns not only the game, but the rights and anything concerning it. I am (luckily in some ways) not responsible for its distribution, marketing choices or public relations and I am, hence, afraid I cannot really come in handy for you and your club.
The game was released in Italy, Hungary, Czeck republic and Russia and that's all I can tell you...the territorial distribution was probably decided starting from the connection Prograph had with foreign distributors, but this is only a guess.
As I wrote at the beginning of this inconsequential bunch of lines I'd be head over heels to know it'll be released in even more countries... my concern is what I've written to be enjoyed; I can hope, not much else.
I've heard you can buy it from amazon.com but that's not quite the same thing, is it?
If I can do or write something for your club I'd be more than willing to help.
Until next sign... S.G.
P.S.: just four dayyyssssss

The person that created Tony Tough can always be a great source of knowledge and information for any adventure club so I hope if it is not big trouble that I can have your e-mail address for future reference.
My e-mail address is dimidimidimi@hotmail.com if you want to send me yours.
I hope you get the credit that you deserve for your job at Tony Tough and that people will enjoy your game.
Hope to hear from you soon, Dimitris
