Nancy Drew Goes Mainstream

As the 75th anniversary of Nancy Drew’s first appearance approaches, it looks as though the general gaming public has finally discovered what adventure gamers have known for years now – Her Interactive’s best-selling series of Nancy Drew adventure games rock!

Besides a recent appearance on the Into Tomorrow radio show (which also featured Just Adventure), Megan Gaiser – CEO of Her Interactive – has been busy chatting with both the Detroit Free Press and The Hollywood Reporter.

Heather Newman’s Detroit Free Press article – which you can read in its entirety here - touts the virtues of mothers and daughters finding common ground by playing adventure games together.

The Hollywood Reporter article focuses on the importance of the emerging female demographic and how it is influencing gaming. It seems Nancy is finally holding her own against the big-hitters like Doom and Grand Theft Auto. Brains over brawn, if you will. So what’s next for Nancy Drew? How about a big-budget feature film and two more new games – The Secret of Shadow Ranch and a yet-to-be-announced title scheduled for a fourth quarter release.
