Just Adventure's 2000 E3 Awards
In what is shaping up to be an annual tradition for Just Adventure, we presented our "Best of" awards at the show. So without further ado ... drum roll, please ... and the first award goes to ...

Many of you may think this was a no-brainer, but the quality of adventure games displayed by Cryo, Ubi Soft, Index Plus, LucasArts, and Presto made the competition stiff.
In the long run, though, no one person or company has shown more devotion to the adventure genre and adventure gamers than Richard Wah Kan and Dreamcatcher.
Demure yet knowledgeable, unassuming yet authoritative, Richard Wah Kan, the president of Dreamcatcher, is personally responsible for keeping the adventure genre alive and at the forefront of the industry. His love and devotion to the genre is responsible for Dreamcatcher filling a void left by the departure of Sierra.

Dreamcatcher's E3 display--a starry field of adventure games
One thing I have learned about Dreamcatcher in our dealings is that their bottom line is not always profit. They care as much about the quality of the product they are releasing and the effect it will have on the adventure community as they do a return on their investment. They have carefully cultivated their image in the adventure community by supporting adventure-related webzines and actively participating on message boards and in newsgroups. They set a standard that many of the larger companies would do well to emulate.
Like any effective leader, Mr. Kan has surrounded himself with a knowledgeable staff. He has no qualms about delegating responsibility to professionals such as Marshall Zwicker, Lorraine Lue, Annette Bechamp, and many other capable employees. This is a staff that scours the world for adventure-based games that will appeal not only to all gamers, but first and foremost to adventure gamers.
Based in Canada, Dreamcatcher has grown from a small, unknown company to the leader in the adventure gaming community in only two short years. Join us as we applaud Dreamcatcher and Richard Wah Kan's support for the adventure community and wish them continued success.
