Frogwares, developer for the upcoming investigation adventure game The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, released a teaser video that goes more into the dark mystery around Sherlock Holmes as well as the dark ambiance. The game is expected to hit shelves for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in spring 2012.

The plot for The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is a noticably darker one from past games about the famous sleuth. Holmes' reputation is on the verge of being ruined, as Doctor Watson starts to question his friendship as he witnesses Holmes committing reprehensible acts. Set in London in 1898, Holmes must not only solve a case of theft, fraud and double-crossings, but convince others that it wasn't him.

With more corpses being discovered throughout London, Sherlock Holmes continues his investigation while staying hidden from Scotland Yard. They are still trying to arrest the detective. While the British police’s evidence suggests Holmes as the main suspect in several cases, Sherlock does not intend to stop the investigation he has already started. He may still need help from Watson, but the doctor's faith is quickly waning...

Sherlock Holmes is on the case and has a new lead which reveals more details on his upcoming adventure! Five new screenshots have been released today of Sherlock's latest investigation, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, specially developed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Follow the famous detective who has just found new leads, that are certain to surprise. This will not be an easy task for Sherlock and Watson, as dangerous criminals still roam free in London.

Today's 5 images illustrate the capabilities of the new graphic engine developed for the game: lush, immersive, and captivating environments, which will serve as Sherlock Holmes' playground during his crime scene investigation. This is a very tricky case he is getting into, as Sherlock is confronted by dangerous criminals as well as Scotland Yard. However, this will not stop the famous detective, determined to shine light upon this shady case!

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in late 2011.
