If
you already have the Nancy Drew game Treasure in the Royal Tower
installed on your computer, you will need to uninstall that
game before installing Final Scene. Don't worry! All
your saved games will remain on your computer.
WARNING!
This is a step- by -step walkthrough and may give away some
solutions to puzzles. Please only read if you are stuck. You
may email us if you need a little hint or a saved game. It is
not necessary for you to play this game in a particular order,
but you won't be able to progress until everything is completed
for the day you are playing. It is also
not essential for you to call your friends Bess, George, and
Ned, but it is fun and they can give you hints. This
walkthrough was written playing in Senior Detective mode.
DAY
1
Nancy
is visiting her old high school friend, Maya Nguyen in St. Louis.
Maya, a student at Washington University, has a press pass and
is on her way to interview Brady Armstrong the lead actor in
"Vanishing Destiny" premiering at the Palladium Theater for
her school paper. The theater was built in the 1920's and all
the great magicians used to perform there including Houdini.
Maya enters Brady's dressing room as Nancy waits backstage.
Nancy, planning to go look for the snack bar, hears Maya scream.
She enters the dressing room, but Maya is not there! The phone
rings. It is the kidnapper saying that Maya will go down with
the building if they don't stop the demolition. The 2nd call
is from Joseph the caretaker and projectionist.
Look
in the closet and pick up the baton. Walk over to the dressing
table, notice the locked drawer, and look behind the picture
of the laughing man. Pull the lever to open the secret passageway,
which is behind the clothes hanging on the rack near the wall.
Go through the secret passageway and come out through the wardrobe
of the women's dressing room. Meet Simone. She is not very helpful
and finds you to be a nuisance. Leave her dressing room and
go out the door on the right. You will be in a hallway that
leads around to the front lobby of the theater. Enter the first
door on the left, which is a small box seating area. Pick up
the quarter on the floor. Go back to the hall and follow it
around to the front lobby where you will meet Nick by the snack
bar. Ask him about Maya. After you finish talking go to the
ticket booth and call the police. You can dial 911.
The
police take the information but are not helpful. They need to
wait 24 hours unless Nancy can find some proof she was kidnapped.
Talk with Nick again until he has no more to say.
Turn
to the right and play the Jazz/Dance puzzle game. (Solution
for Senior Detective mode: down, down, right, up, right, right,
down, right, right, down, right, up, right, up, left, up, right.)
(Solution for Junior Detective mode: up,
up, right, right, up, up, up, right, down, down, right, right,
right, right, up, left, up, right) Pick up the disk.
Go
up either stairway and turn to the left or right before you
get to the door and you should find the projection room. Talk
with Joseph twice and he will suggest you call the County administration
for blueprints. Leave the projection room and enter both sides
of the balcony. Look over the edge of both railings. On the
right side facing the screen you can see a little pink blob
stuck to one of the chairs. On the left side you can see another
disk but it is too far to reach. You can rig something up using
your inventory item. Get that disk! To
get the disk, go downstairs and find the chair with the gum.
Use your baton on the pink blob. To find the chair
with the gum, go down the center isle toward the screen, then
turn around and walk toward the back of the theater. The chair
with the gum is in front of a pillar. Now you will have something
to reach that disk!
Nick
is no longer at the snack bar, so check out the pamphlets. On
one of the pamphlets you will find the County Administration
phone number (555-3309). Call them for the blue prints.
Time
to snoop some more behind the stage. Maybe there are more secret
passageways.
Notice
the large crate tied with ropes? Go to the other side and unwind
one of the ropes until you hear a "CLUNK!" Go back to the crate
and attach the hook. Rewind the rope until it is back the way
it was. Now look at the floor where the crate used to be and
find the trap door. Go all the way down the stairs and turn
right. Follow it around to the right until you come to a small
safe. Turn all the symbols to spades and the door will open
revealing a box with a picture puzzle on top. Move the pieces
to make this picture. The pieces turn if you put your cursor
in the upper left until it changes to a curved arrow.
After
you solve the picture puzzle the box will open. Place the 2
gears and then click on the silver one to open the secret drawer.
Pick up the key and read the note. Search the other side of
the basement and play the Amazing Monty Magician card game.
Win that game and pick up your prize! To play the game, click
on the play button until the 3 squares light up, and then click
on one of the squares. Keep playing until you win.
Time
to go up stairs and ask our suspects where they were when Maya
was kidnapped. Talk with Brady in his dressing room. Go out
to the lobby and talk with Nick again about JJ Thompson. Nick
will leave to check his laptop. Joseph will call you over the
loud speaker. Go up to talk with him and see what he has to
show you. Go back to call the police again. When you leave the
ticket booth Joseph will meet you and that will end Day 1.
<saved game Day 2>
DAY2
Look
at the funeral wreath and read the note. Talk with Joseph in
the projection room. While you are there you can look around
the room, if you haven't already. Pick up a slide on that table
with empty film reels. Read the Clayton Projector manual and
notice the last page where the key is missing. Open the closet
and take the projector bulb.
Go
down stairs and talk with Nick. Talk to him twice until he tells
you everything. He will tell you about the widow of Houdini's
cousin and ask you to call her. He wrote her name and phone
number on the pad next to the phone. Call her now. Eustacia
Andropov 1-813-555-3247.
Eustacia
will tell you to call the Library of Congress and talk with
Sherman Trout. The number is 1-202-555-5000. Call him also and
then go back out to the snack bar and talk with Nick again.
Go
to the women's dressing room and talk with Simone a couple times
until she has nothing more to say. Go over to see Brady, but
this time he is not there. Look at the book and note that he
was reading. Leave the room and when you come back he will be
there again. Ask him about the posters and where he found Maya's
press pass. Go out to the lobby and hang out in the ticket booth
to hear the press conference.
After
the press conference, go back to Simone's dressing room. She
will not be there so you can snoop around. Open the drawer of
the dressing table and pick up the bobby pin. Look through her
purse. You can turn on the camera and look at all the pictures
of Brady. Open her wallet and look at her cards and the receipt
for the funeral wreath.
It
is not essential but you can look at her organizer and read
her email if you can get the numbers 8-1-3 on the center row
and stars on the top and bottom row. <saved

Close her purse and go over to Brady's
dressing room. Use the bobby pin to open the locked drawer and
read the Stage Technician's Guide. Read this book and take notes,
then go up to the projection room. Joseph is not there so you
can play with the projector and go to the control panel. Place
the slide in the front then turn on the light and focus the
slide. If you turn off the light and turn it back on the light
burns out.

The
power button is already lit an on. Click on the number keypad
and enter the 6-digit code. 121192 You will hear a click.
Next
click in the area to bring up the red buttons and switches.
Press
the bottom two buttons labeled Left and Right Fader Power buttons.
Move
the two fader switches on the left all the way down.
Press
the Magnet button.
Move
both fader switches up one notch.
Press
the trap door button.
And
finally… VERY IMPORTANT, press the switch on the right to lock
everything in place.
This

Now
let's go to the stage!
Go
to either cage get inside and climb down.
Click
on the burned out lamp and hole in the wall to discover Maya!
The
trick chair will go up trapping you down there.
It
is dark and hard to see, but look down towards the floor and
you will find a trap door. Open it and walk down the stairs.
Follow the passage to the left and you will find a rabbit slider
puzzle, but it is stuck and you can't move the pieces. Turn
around and go down the other hall where you will find a little
lift. Click the on button then the up button. When the lift
stops climb up the wall ladder and open the hatch. It is stuck!
Joseph hears Nancy trying to get out so he opens the hatch door
and hands her some lubricant for the slider puzzle. A big help
he is!
Go
back down the hall to the slider puzzle, use the spray lubricant
and solve the puzzle.
As
you move the bricks also move the little rabbit forward until
his coast is clear. See picture below of one solution.
After
you open the door to the magician's room, SAVE YOU GAME! <saved

Play
with the guillotine,
Open
the chest and take the rubber gloves.
Look
at the pizza boxes and Maya's shoe. Maya has been here!
Read
the book Magic Secrets volume IV.
Don't
go out the door because you will get locked out again and have
to replay the slider puzzle. Go out the coffin shaped door with
the spikes and hand in the center. This takes you beneath the
stage.
The
gate is closed and ELECTRIFIED!
Use
your rubber gloves on the keypad. Since the code is random and
changes each time you will have to figure it out by trial and
error. Click on each button until one stays down and doesn't
buzz. Write that number down or remember it. Then find the next
button the same way. Continue until you have all nine buttons
down and the gate will swing open.
When
you surface, Brady will be there. Go to the ticket booth and
call Sergeant Ramsey.
Talk
with Joseph in the projection room until the conversations are
finished. When you leave the projection room that will end Day
2. <saved
game day 3>
DAY
3
Look
at the headlines and then read the note by the phone. Seems
that Joseph wants to talk with you now.
After
talking with Joseph, go back stage and talk with Brady and Simone.
Return to Brady's room and snoop while he is away. Search his
briefcase and take the pencil. As you start to leave Brady will
show up. Confront him about what you discovered in his briefcase.
Be
careful walking backstage. Return to the snack bar and talk
with Nick. You have a package! Get the slide in the ticket booth
and head up to the projection room. Use your pencil on the last
page of the projection manual to trace out the key pattern.
Use
the key maker in the lobby to make a key for the projector.
Click on S, I, V, O and then Make a Key button. Pick up the
finished key and go back to the projection room.
Use
your new key to open the projector and take the slide. The police
are coming!
You
better hide!
To
hide: Once you pick up the slide in the projector, put it quickly
in your inventory and shut the projector door. Back up 2 times
and turn all the way around to the right. Go forward to the
closet, open the door and go forward into the closet all the
way forward as far as you can go and the door will automatically
shut.
When
they leave it is safe to come out. Open the projector, replace
the bulb and put the slide from Sherman Trout in the holder.
Turn it on, focus, and look at the screen. Put the slide in
that you got from the projector. When you try to focus the knob
will fall off. Listen to the tape recorder and notice the voice
swap recorder hooked up to it. Click on the back part of the
tape recorder to move it. The focus knob will roll forward so
you can pick it up. Place it back on the projector and focus
the slide. Look at the screen and when you go to leave Joseph
will intercept and lock you in the room.
Time
is running out and you must save Maya!
Click
on the outlet on the wall just to the right of the door. It
will open to reveal a switch. Click on the switch and turn to
the right. Go up the ladder. It is dark up there!
Go
forward to a locked door. You don't have the key. Turn around
and go toward the left where you find a little safe in the wall.
Use the key you got from the gear box to open it. 9 keys?! Grab
them all and try each one on the door.
Go
through the door and see Maya locked up. Go forward and to the
left to look out the window at the Marquee. Follow the power
lines around toward the left until you see where the switch
is. Again, Joseph will show up and block you from turning the
power on. Use the magic ring you got from the Amazing Magician
card game on Joseph and then quickly pull the switch to turn
on the Marquee. Now they can see someone is still in the building
and the demolition is called off. Nancy has saved Maya and solved
another mystery.
