Easter Eggs is a freeware adventure game using the AdventureMaker software (that used in Nacah, Derek, and other games). Many of these games, including Easter Eggs, are available free from the AdventureMaker website. This game, and some others including demos, are also available from the TCB website (http://harmonics.hypermart.net/games).

This game is a very simple adventure game more suited to children than to adults. It’s a small download and will only provide twenty minutes or so of exploration. The game is, however, not without merits for adults, as some of the puzzles are not immediately straightforward. Rather, a few simple steps in experimentation elucidate the goal of the puzzle. Interestingly, when I first played the game, I believed the game was over in under a minute. It was only with some probing of my old gray matter that I realized there was still another couple of acts in this play.

This game is well worth a few minutes look. The graphics are clear and simple. The sound is limited but OK for the game. Children will delight in the upbeat music. There is some interesting information about the origins of Easter in the game as well as some relevant Scripture that makes for entertaining reading. Play it with a child and enjoy their wonderment of discovery, brief though it is.

Introduction

The goal of this game is to help the bunny find his lost eggs so he can turn back into the Easter Bunny. The first puzzle requires that you play a kind of “hangman” game to figure out where the eggs are. Don’t panic, though, you can make as many attempts as you need. The correct answer is “On the Fridge”.  Now that you have discovered where the eggs are, you must convince the bunny to follow you to them.

Turn right. Place the ladder in front of the fridge. Inspect the eggs on top. Return to in front of the fridge. Turn left twice. Read the coffee table book about Easter and rabbits. Close the book and look at the picture. Take the carrot out of the sandwich. Pick up the ketchup. Put ketchup on the carrot. Leave the house.

Use the carrot to lure the rabbit to the water and then to the house. See the diagram below:

Put a carrot on the floor. The rabbit appears. Turn right. Place another carrot on the floor and use successive carrots to move it to the ladder and then climb the rungs to the top. When it gets to the top rung, the bunny tells you it is missing an egg! Return to the garage.

Return to the ladder at the fridge. Give the bunny the final egg and in a split second he transforms back into the Easter Bunny! Happy Easter!
