6/2003 "Story Outline 1912 : A young cartographer, Parker, is sent to the Cornish harbour town of Trewarthan, where he is to map the lethal rocks that have claimed lives through the centuries. A thick fog rolls in from the English Channel as the faithful light of Fetch Rock Lighthouse is plunged into darkness, putting the lives of those at sea in peril. Parker is sent to investigate, where he discovers that Fetch Rock Lighthouse hides an ancient secret....

Extended Story 1912 : The jagged, lethal rocks around the bay of Trewarthan have claimed many lives throughout the passing centuries, which is why Parker has been sent to draw up scaled and accurate coastal maps of the area.
Arriving in the town, Parker senses hostility. Is it simply his work that the local fishermen fear, or is there something more to Trewarthan than meets the eye?

Why do the locals avoid any mention of the lighthouse on Fetch Rock?

At dusk of April 29th, darkness begins to fall across the coastline, the sea is calm and all seems well....

A fog horn breaks the silence. A thick mist creeps across the channel towards the town....

Rumours begin to fly that Fetch Rock lighthouse has been plunged into darkness. How will the returning fishermen guide their trawlers into the safety of the harbour..... what has happened to the lighthouse keepers.....?

Parker may be their only hope. Armed with his compass, charts and wits he sets off to uncover the mystery. Along the way he discovers that Fetch Rock and its lighthouse have a very sinister history....

Is time running out? Or does it have an agenda of its own....

2/21/2003 This is the second Dark Fall 2 update for today. I just heard from Jonathan Boakes that the DF 2 website is up and running. And it is looking great!! Please visit www.xxvproductions.co.uk/darkfall2/index2.htm for a real treat: Images, storyline, creation of and more.

2/21/2003 DarkFall 2 finally has a webpage where we can keep up with the game's progress. Other than that, I don't have much new to tell you. Jonathan is keeping things close and quiet at this time, however, I do know that the game will be a mystery adventure in first person, point and click style. Nuff said for now.

9/6/2002 I am very excited about this. Just in case you have been on Mars for a while you may not know that Dark Fall has developed quite a following. I think that this is super/terrific news as Jonathan Boakes of XXv is one of those wildly talented people who find game development a labor of love and has been able to create an adventure (oh, gee, aren't they dead yet) game of merit without the support of a Mr. Biggie company.

If you have already played Dark Fall you will be thrilled to know that another episode is located someplace on the developmental timeline. If you haven't played it, what the heck is wrong with you. So many of the big game developers are closing their doors. The independent adventure game developer should be our hero. He/She is the one who will keep us up late at night as we slave to solve the next puzzle and find the next hot spot to explore.

That being said, I have heard from Jonathan and here is what he has to tell us:

"Hi Harriet,

The news is, I've sold "Splinter" to a fellow small media company in London (not as small as my company though! There's more than one person!), they will be developing it from now on. I'm not taking part in the production, so I am a free agent, again!

I did develop "Splinter" to a full concept, script and preproduction artwork level, which they have taken onboard, and will use in whatever way they want. Hopefully, they will be emailing you soon, with news. I've passed on the links and info that I've managed to build up, so I am looking forward to seeing where they take the project.

I've not sat around either, and have a new game in production. Unsurprisingly I can tell you that it is called "Dark Fall II : Lights Out", and I am pleased to be continuing the style that Dark Fall illustrated. It is not a direct sequel, and will take the player to a new location, with a new and more proactive foe (and characters!).

A lonely, island bound Edwardian Lighthouse has been plunged into darkness, as a thick fog rolls in from the English Channel. The player will make up a two man team who is sent to investigate why the lighthouse has ceased operations. You find a deserted lighthouse, with signs that something fast, and devastating, happened there moments before you arrived....

I will bring you more information, and the all important screen shots, as I progress."
