A Vampyre Story, the ‘hair raising’ new adventure game for PC from Ascaron Entertainment and 93 Games will be released in October for a haunting Halloween. The game has been developed by Autumn Moon Entertainment, a company founded by ex-LucasArts employee Bill Tiller, who previously worked on adventure game classics The Curse of Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine.

A new trailer has been released providing a glimpse at some of the characters in A Vampyre Story and a brief tour of Draxsylvania, the haunting land that Mona escapes.

Mona De Lafitte is a young, cultured and beautiful French woman with a wonderful singing voice and ambitions of fame and fortune as a world renowned opera singer. Unfortunately she is the object of obsession for psychotic vampire Baron Shrowdy von Kiefer, who transforms her into a vampire and condemns her to an eternal existence by his side as one of the undead locked in his castle in Draxsylvania.

Fate destroyed Mona’s life when she was turned into a vampire, but gives her a chance to fulfill her dreams when she escapes, after her evil captor Baron Shrowdy von Kiefer is killed. Unaware of her undead status, Mona has the morals and emotions of any good Parisian, but with the strength and desires of a vampire.

On Halloween 2008 Mona will be re-entering the world of the living, haunting the streets of Paris in her bid to become the first ‘Vampyre of the Opera’.

A Vampyre Story is a beautifully crafted game with great aesthetic value conveyed through a cast of wonderful characters and a creative storyline. Set for a Halloween 2008 release, the new game is a must see for any adventure game fan.
