Conclusion

I want to thank everyone who participated in this. The amount of creative energy they all possess is staggering and all were extremely gracious and easy to work with. The amount of wisdom that can be gained from the preceeding pages is invaluable.

Encouraging. That is the one thing that seems to jump out at me for two reasons. First, because I think the future of Adventure Gaming is in very good hands. Second, because there seems to be a lot of moral support that they give each other. I just can't imagine big companies going to each other when they have a problem or are uncertain about thier direction. There seems to be a common bond and a sincere interest in helping each other out through the tough times. They truly love what they are doing and are just as interested in seeing what others create as well. As Britney Brimhall said, "We're all in this together."

Jonathan Boakes. I just have to comment about him. He wasn't the first indie AG developer and he didn't just open the doors for others to follow - he ripped the damn thing off its hinges! He showed what was possible from an indie and publishers took notice. He made it easier for others with talent to reach those same heights. The ironic twist is that he did it without even trying. He just put together a game HE would enjoy. There is a HUGE lesson to be learned there...

Lastly, I want to thank Randy Sluganski. He has been supportive of indie developers from day one, encouraging and helping to promote them on JA with announcements, previews, reviews, etc. He has always taken them seriously. His dedication to the adventure gaming genre seems limitless...
