Call of Cthulhu Production Art and Info - January 21, 2014

It's the 1920s. You, as private investigator Edward Pierce, embark on a mission in search of the truth behind the tragic deaths of acclaimed artist Sarah Hawkins and her family.

As you explore the Hawkins Family Mansion on Darkwater Island, you discover something even more disturbing: the Great Dreamer, Cthulhu, is preparing its awakening. Soon, you'll feel your sanity being chipped away.

Call of Cthulhu first appeared in 2014 with the release of some production art. Unfortunately, nothing further appeared, and the game fell off the radar. For awhile, it seemed as though it wouldn't be released.

Fast forward to 2016, and the game is back on the menu. Original developer Frogwares is no longer affiliated with the project, and Cyanide Studio (Styx: Master of Shadows) has jumped onboard.

Patrick Pligersdorffer, CEO, Cyanide Studio: We are happy that Focus entrusted us with the development of a videogame adaptation of the legendary RPG Call of Cthulhu. As long-time fans of the license, working with longtime partner publisher Focus Home Interactive on such an original and exciting project is, once again, a privilege. We hope to offer fans the game they've long been waiting for.

Cédric Lagarrigue, President, Focus Home Interactive: We are deeply honored to be partnering with Cyanide again. They've grown alongside us for the past 10 years, to become today one of the best independent developers in Europe. With titles such as Styx: Master of Shadows and the Blood Bowl series, they've proved their creativity and ability to offer strong gaming experiences in original worlds. Cyanide has been wanting to make a Call of Cthulhu adaptation for years. They now hold all the cards to create a game that will please fans of the Cthulhu mythos, as well as players eager for rich and original gaming experiences.

If all goes as planned, Call of Cthulhu will be released in 2017 for Windows, PS4 an Xbox One. Stay tuned...
